Julian Welfoot

Julian Welfoot has a solid work experience history. Julian started their career at PwC as a Senior Associate in Audit and Assurance from September 2002 to May 2006. Julian then moved on to Deloitte, where they worked as an Associate Director in Corporate Finance and M&A Advisory from May 2006 to December 2011. At Deloitte, Welfoot advised on various acquisitions, divestments, and buyouts.

In 2011, Welfoot joined Hexion Inc. as the Regional COO for Europe, managing a $200 million revenue business unit with operations in multiple countries. Julian held this position until November 2016 when they took on the role of Regional COO for Latin America, overseeing a $200 million revenue business unit with operations in Brazil, Colombia, and Uruguay. In April 2021, Welfoot became the Divisional CFO for Global Adhesives at Hexion Inc.

Since May 2022, Welfoot has been the Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Europe at Bakelite Synthetics. Julian leads a team of 750 associates across various functions, including commercial, research and development, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Julian Welfoot has an education history that includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Durham University Business School, obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Swansea University, from 1998 to 2001, and a Master of Engineering (MEng), also in Chemical Engineering, from the same institution, from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their degrees, Julian has obtained various certifications, including becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs in 2005, and receiving the CF30 Approved Person certification from the Financial Conduct Authority in December 2009. Julian also holds a Certificate in Corporate Finance from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI), completed in 2009.
