James Levinson

James Levinson serves as the Indirect Tax Managing Director at Baker Tilly US since June 2025, following the merger with Moss Adams, where James held the same title from December 2022. With a strong background in multistate indirect tax consulting, James assists clients in navigating complex sales and use tax issues, while contributing to the development of the Baker Tilly SALT team. Prior to his tenure at Moss Adams, James was a partner at PwC from 1999 to June 2022, leading the Southwest Market Indirect Tax practice and managing the San Diego office. James's career began at the California State Board of Equalization, where James served as a Professional Advisor after working as a sales and use tax field auditor. James also has internal audit experience from positions at Great American Bank and Union Bank. James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from San Diego State University.
