Valerie Nelan

Valerie Nelan is the Chief of Staff at Baker Donelson, a position held since August 2004, where responsibilities include managing strategic projects, tracking firm goals, and analyzing key lessons for leadership. Previously, Valerie served as a Business Development Manager, focusing on practice group strategies and shareholder coaching. In addition, Valerie held the role of Chair for the Birmingham City Group of the Legal Marketing Association and contributed to the Strategies Journal committee. Earlier experience includes three years as an Administrative Assistant at Stites & Harbison and as an Editorial Contracts Administrator at Wired Magazine. Valerie holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from Queens University of Charlotte and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Memphis.
