Paul M. Schmidt

Paul M. Schmidt is currently the Chairman at BakerHostetler. Paul has over 25 years of experience in tax law.

Paul started their career as an Associate at Dewey Ballantine in 1993. In 1998, they moved to United States Congressional, Joint Committee on Taxation as Legislation Counsel. After three years, Paul joined KPMG as Partner, National Tax, International Tax in 2001. In 2004, they left KPMG to join Georgetown University as Adjunct Professor, International Tax. Paul taught at Georgetown for 15 years before joining BakerHostetler in 2019.

Paul M. Schmidt attended Georgetown University for both their LL.M. and Juris Doctor, graduating with distinction and magna cum laude respectively. Paul also attended Miami University for their Bachelor of Science, graduating summa cum laude. Paul has various certifications from the Supreme Court of the United States, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, U.S. Tax Court, Ohio, and Virginia in fields such as Bar Admission and Certified Public Accountant (Inactive).
