Head Athletic Trainer at Bakersfield Condors

Josh Bennett has extensive experience in the field of athletic training. Josh started their career as an Athletic Training Intern at the Manchester Monarchs in 2009, where they assisted with the documentation, assessment, and treatment of orthopedic injuries. Josh then worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winthrop University from 2009 to 2011, providing similar services to NCAA Division-I student-athletes.

From 2011 to 2013, Bennett served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, where they focused on athletes aged 16-20 in the United States Hockey League. During this time, they maintained the budget for supplies and facilitated physician visits.

Bennett then joined the Bakersfield Condors in 2013 as a Head Athletic Trainer, where they provided orthopedic injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for professional athletes in the American Hockey League. Josh also facilitated physician visits and completed insurance claims for athletic injuries.

In 2019, Bennett took on the role of Assistant Manager and later Center Director at Octapharma Plasma, Inc. Josh was responsible for creating work schedules, developing employees through leadership and mentorship, and managing production and training needs.

Bennett recently returned to the Bakersfield Condors in 2022 as the Head Athletic Trainer, continuing their work with professional hockey players in the American Hockey League.

Josh Bennett has a diverse education history. Josh obtained a High School Diploma from Bangor High School in 2001, focusing on College Prep. Josh then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Maine, where they studied from 2001 to 2009. Continuing their education, Josh pursued a Master of Science degree in Physical Education at Winthrop University from 2009 to 2011.

In addition to their formal education, Josh has acquired several additional certifications. In 2009, they became a Certified Athletic Trainer through the NATA BOARD OF CERTIFICATION, INC. Josh also obtained certification as a Professional Rescuer in CPR/First Aid from the American Red Cross in the same year. In 2016, they earned the title of Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Furthermore, Josh has obtained various other certifications, including FMT - Blades from ROCKTAPE, RPR Coach from Reflexive Performance Reset, SFMA Level 1 from Functional Movement Systems, TPI Level 1 Certified from Titleist Performance Institute, and Y-Balance Certified from Functional Movement Systems.
