Scott Acker has extensive work experience in dermatopathology and laboratory administration. Scott began their career as a Resident Physician and Fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina and later worked as an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Scott then joined Dermpath Diagnostics, where they served as the Managing Director and Laboratory Director. Afterwards, they became an Associate Dermatopathologist at Dermatopathology Associates. In 2008, they founded their own company, Acker Dermatopathology, where they served as the Owner and CEO, conducting research in confocal microscopy and digital imaging. Scott also held positions as an Associate Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and as the Chief Medical Officer, Laboratory Director, and Medical Director at Bako Diagnostics. Currently, they are a Medical Director and Dermatopathologist at Cutis Diagnostics. Throughout their career, Scott Acker has focused on teaching, research, and providing accurate and reliable patient test results in dermatopathology.
Scott Acker attended The University of Alabama from 1986 to 1990. During their time there, they studied Microbiology, Creative Writing, and Philosophy. From 1990 to 1994, they pursued a degree in Medicine at the University of South Alabama, where they completed their MD.
