Chris Hawthorne has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Chris began their career at Meyer and Johnson as a Media Planner/Buyer, where they developed media plans for clients such as Travelocity and analyzed media research and competitive analysis. Chris then joined Integer Group as a Media Supervisor, where they were responsible for developing and negotiating media plans for clients like GTE and Nokia. Chris played a key role in the agency's win of Benefitmall. Chris then moved to Ackerman McQueen as the Director of Interactive Media/New Business Development, leveraging their expertise to influence budget allocations to digital media for traditional clients and developing successful test market plans.
Later, they joined Slingshot and held various roles, including Group Media Director and Vice President of Human Resources. As Group Media Director, they led integrated media strategy, execution, and negotiation for accounts including Texas Tourism and Joe's Crab Shack. Chris played a significant role in winning the Texas Tourism business and improving travel and ROI to the state. As the VP of Human Resources, they established and managed employee policies and procedures, recruitment and retention programs, training initiatives, and a summer internship program. Chris also developed a formal social media policy for the agency.
Currently, Chris is the Media Director at Balcom Agency, where they lead media strategy and execution across traditional and digital platforms. Chris manages a team of digitally focused media professionals and collaborates with account management and social managers to ensure flawless program execution.
Chris Hawthorne studied Journalism with a focus on Advertising at the University of North Texas. The exact duration of the education is unknown. In addition to their degree, Chris has obtained additional certifications. Chris completed the Executive Program at The Trade Desk Edge Academy and became certified in the Google Ads Search Certification program in May 2020.
