Ellen Zegarra

Ellen Zegarra is the VP of Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement at Baldwin Wallace University. Ellen previously served as the Director of Advancement at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School from August 2012 to March 2016. In this role, they oversaw the Advancement activities for the high school, including capital projects, programmatic support, and scholarships.

Ellen was instrumental in gathering and leading local business leaders, established alumni, and executive board members to collaborate and create a five-year strategic plan for the high school. Ellen also coordinated and implemented administrative and operational activities related to the school, including stewardship special events such as an annual scholarship dinner and annual president’s reception for top tier donors. In addition, Ellen managed print and social media relations for the school, including writing, editing, and design support for the Connection Magazine, a bi-annual magazine with a distribution of 11,000+.

Ellen reported directly to the school President and supervised a team of four advancement professionals. Ellen also provided marketing concepts and support to the Admissions department, resulting in an overall increase in enrollment. Ellen initiated and planned events to educate and engage constituents through athletic, educational, spiritual, and celebratory programs. Ellen also cultivated relationships with mature constituents and offered education on planned giving, estate planning, and the potential tax benefits of major gifts.

Ellen Zegarra has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Ursuline College, a Real Estate Licensure from Hondros College, and attended St. Columbkille and St. Vincent St. Mary.
