Jim Segedy, PhD, FAICP, Assoc. AIA, SEED-AP, is a seasoned professional in urban planning and design with extensive academic and practical experience. Currently serving as a Senior Project Manager at LSSE Civil Engineers and Surveyors since May 2025, Jim also holds honorary titles as Professor Emeritus and Director Emeritus of Community Based Projects at Ball State University. Previous roles include Director of Community Planning + Design at The Planning Guild/The Community Partnership, Land Use and Long Range Planner for Peters Township, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in Sustainable Communities and Community Planning. Educationally, Jim earned a Ph.D. in Urban, Technological and Environmental Planning from the University of Michigan and holds multiple degrees in architecture, urban planning, and microbiology. Active in professional organizations, Jim has held significant leadership positions in the American Planning Association and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council.
