Karen Hum

Karen Hum, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Academic Programs and Assessment at Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies since January 2017, while also holding the position of Instructor of Educational Psychology at Ball State University since August 2022. Previously, Karen was the Director of Institutional Research for Ivy Tech Community College from April 2006 to January 2017, where key contributions included enhancing student success through data-driven strategies and conducting extensive quantitative and qualitative research. Karen has a strong background in psychometrics, institutional research, and program evaluation, along with experience as a Program Manager-Assessment Specialist in Corporate College Services, where responsibilities included test creation, psychometric consulting, and statewide training on assessments. Educational credentials include a PhD in Educational Psychology, a Certificate in Institutional Research, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, all obtained from Ball State University.
