Ian Sproat - IEng MIED

Ian Sproat - IEng MIED has a vast and diverse work experience in various engineering roles spanning over two decades. Ian is currently the Head of Design Services at Ballard Motive Solutions, where they lead a team of experts and supports internal and external projects with technical resources. Prior to this position, Ian served as the Engineering Design Manager at Ballard Motive Solutions and was responsible for managing design projects.

Before their time at Ballard Motive Solutions, Ian worked at Knorr-Bremse AG as the R&D Technical Lead for Advanced Engineering and as the Design & Project Engineering Team Manager for Product Development. In these roles, they displayed expertise in drivetrain and engine air systems, leading design teams, and collaborating with stakeholders and customers.

Ian also has experience as a Technical Development Manager at P C Henderson Limited, where they contributed to the design and development of sliding hardware systems. Ian previously served as a Senior Design Engineer at Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. and worked for Bentley Motors as a Project Lead and Development Engineer.

Furthermore, Ian has held positions as a Design Engineer and Project Leader at FS Design Ltd, a Senior Product Development Engineer at Salamander Pumps, and a Design Engineer at ThyssenKrupp, Nifco UK Limited, and Valeo.
