Simon Delderfield has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Simon is currently working as the Head of Control Systems Engineering at Ballard Motive Solutions since January 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Systems Engineering Manager at Intelligent Energy from November 2019 to December 2021, and Principal Systems Engineer from June 2018 to November 2019.

Simon also worked as a Principal Systems Engineer at MBDA from June 2016 to May 2018, where they applied Model Based Systems Engineering using IBM Rhapsody and DOORS. Simon was familiar with communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1760/1553 and modbus and applied Agile principles and practices to software planning activities.

Before their role at MBDA, Simon worked as a Senior Control Systems Engineer at Intelligent Energy from August 2014 to May 2016. Simon also gained experience as a Control Systems Engineer at Caterpillar Inc. from January 2013 to August 2014.

Simon's career started at Perkins Engines Company Limited in September 2008 as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, they developed new electronic engine control systems, managed customer requirements and software development, and conducted bench and rig tests for development ECUs. Simon continued in this position until December 2012.

Simon began their engineering career at Cummins Inc. in August 2006, where they worked as a Mechanical Engineer until September 2007.

Simon Delderfield attended the University of Birmingham from 2003 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) Hons degree in Mechanical Engineering.
