Ballet Arizona
Matthew Kasper is a highly accomplished conductor with extensive experience in orchestral and youth music leadership. Currently serving as Principal Conductor at Ballet Arizona since August 2022 and Artistic and General Director at The Phoenix Youth Symphony since October 2020, Kasper also holds the position of Resident Conductor at The Phoenix Symphony since August 2015. Prior to these roles, Kasper was Music Director for the Phoenix Youth Symphony from July 2015 to August 2018 and Music Director for the Chicago Composers Orchestra from September 2010 to May 2015, where responsibilities included season planning and conducting rehearsals and performances. Kasper holds a Master of Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Queens College and a Master of Music in Music Performance (Violin) from Roosevelt University.

Ballet Arizona is an innovative and provocative professional ballet company that creates, performs, and teaches outstanding classical and contemporary ballet. The company is dedicated to preserving and celebrating classical dance while creating and commissioning new innovative works. Ballet Arizona is under the artistic direction of Ib Andersen, who was a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet for over a decade. An administrative team and community Board of Directors provides support services and oversight for the company’s activities, and is assisted by the dedicated efforts of an enthusiastic Volunteer Corps. Ballet Arizona is dedicated to serving the people of central Arizona through Education and Community Outreach programs, which touch the lives of more than 35,000 children each year.
