Cole Zemel

Cole Zemel's work experience starts with their current role as an Associate Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co., which began in June 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Ballooning Nest Eggs starting in January 2021.

In 2018, Cole had a role as a Software Engineer Intern at Layer 6 AI, a Machine Learning company that develops algorithms for TD Bank. During their time there, they worked on a team to develop an application that provides insight into the algorithms being used. Cole specifically led the design and development of a feature to analyze the fairness of these systems according to various metrics of algorithmic fairness. Their internship at Layer 6 AI lasted from July 2018 to August 2019.

Before their internship, Cole worked at the University of Toronto as a Web Developer in the Department of Computer Science for a few months in 2013. Additionally, they gained experience as a Mathematics Tutor at Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School and Regional Arts Centre from September 2011 to March 2013.

Cole Zemel pursued their education from 2015 to 2020 at the University of Toronto. During this time, they completed an Honours Bachelor of Science (Hon. B.Sc.) degree in the field of Computer Science.
