Matthew Cox, FICS is currently the Head of Benchmark Production - Senior Freight Assessor at The Baltic Exchange since August 2021. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at North Atlantic Fishing Company Limited in the fishing industry from April 2015 to July 2021. He also worked as a Director at Marlens Maritime Limited in maritime consultancy from September 2012 to April 2015. Before that, he held the position of Head of Tankers at Gearbulk, specializing in the transportation of 'Coal Tar Pitch' for the Aluminium Industry. Matthew has a strong background in business development and planning, with previous roles at companies such as Unigas International, Bahri, AET (UK) LTD, and Gulf Agency Company. He also served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy from 1997 to 2003, specializing in hydrography, meteorology, and navigation. Matthew holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from the University of West London.
