Daniel J. Blaydon, P.E. serves as a Principal Engineer in Substation Engineering, Design, and Standards at Baltimore Gas & Electric since June 2007. Responsibilities include engineering and asset management for power transformers, encompassing areas such as core and shell form technology, autotransformers, and mobile transformers, along with various manufacturing and testing processes. Daniel's expertise extends to thermal capability calculations, failure analysis, and field installations. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Engineer and Engineer in the same unit, in addition to serving as a Teaching Assistant for an Electric Power PE Licensure Examination Preparation Course at UMBC Training Centers. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and has a foundational education from HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College. Areas of interest include geomagnetic disturbances and transformer manufacturing history.
