Jermel Miller

Jermel Miller, P.E. has a diverse range of work experience in the energy industry. Jermel began their career at PSEG as an Engineer Nuclear, where they focused on maintaining and revising nuclear power plant instrumentation and control designs. Jermel also provided 24-hour engineering shift support for maintenance and operations.

Following their time at PSEG, Miller joined Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) and held various leadership roles. Jermel served as a Senior Engineer, responsible for reliability and maintenance planning for substations. Jermel then became a Supervisor, leading a team responsible for day-to-day support of transmission and distribution system problems.

Miller later became the Manager of the Protection & Control Engineering Unit at BGE, overseeing a team of engineers and supporting substation capital projects. Jermel then served as the Utility Performance Assessment Manager, responsible for overseeing and coordinating capacity planning, design, engineering, and facility relocation across multiple operating companies.

In their most recent role at BGE, Miller has served as the Senior Manager of Transmission Control and the Senior Manager of Projects, where they oversaw control room activities, outage coordination, and the development of a corporate mobile dispatch and field asset mapping solution. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Transmission & Substation Engineering at Baltimore Gas & Electric, where they are responsible for managing the company's transmission and substation engineering operations.

Jermel Miller, P.E. holds an MBA in Decisions and Information Technology from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Prior to this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, completing it from 1999 to 2003. Alongside their education, they also obtained the certification of Professional Engineer from the Maryland Board of Professional Engineers in June 2015.
