Mehtab Pathan

Mehtab Pathan, PhD, is a seasoned AI and machine learning researcher with extensive experience in quantitative research and applied AI across several prominent financial institutions. Currently serving as an AI/ML Quant Researcher at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since March 2025, Pathan previously held positions as Applied AI & ML Lead at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Senior Data Scientist at Builder. Earlier experience includes roles as a Data Scientist at HSBC and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Oxford. Pathan earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology from Imperial College London, and holds a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire.
