Uwe Zscherpel

Uwe Zscherpel is a skilled professional with extensive experience in the field of digital radiology and image analysis. Currently serving as a Regierungsdirektor at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung since February 1992, Uwe Zscherpel leads a research group focused on innovative developments in non-destructive testing methods, particularly in industrial applications utilizing X-ray, gamma, and neutron radiation. Prior experience includes a position as a scientific assistant at the Zentralinstitut für physikalische Chemie der AdW der DDR and as a research student at Universität Leipzig, specializing in Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. Uwe Zscherpel holds a Dr. rer. nat. degree in Physics from Leipzig University and completed an academic semester in Physical Chemistry at MGU Moscow.
