Sander Den Blanken

Sander den Blanken has a diverse and extensive work experience in the construction and engineering industry. Sander started their career in 1996 as a Civil Engineer at Advin Noordwest B.V. and later worked as a Structural Engineer at Ruppert Bouwtechniek. In 1999, they joined Arcadis as a Structural Engineer, where they worked on various infrastructure projects.

In 2003, Sander joined Gemeente Amsterdam as a Senior Consultant/Consulting Engineer, overseeing projects such as the Piping Link across Zuidas Amsterdam and the Highway Arch bridge across Amsterdam Rijnkanaal.

Sander then moved to Arup in 2008, where they held multiple roles including Senior Consultant, Associate, Associate Director, and Director. Sander was responsible for managing and directing bridge design and engineering projects, as well as leading the Northern European Highways Business Leadership division.

In 2019, Sander joined BAM Infra Nederland as the Managing Director of BAM Infraconsult, where they were responsible for a 500-person civil engineering company. Sander later became the Director of Commercial Business Development, focusing on diversifying, growing, and improving the business.

Throughout their career, Sander has demonstrated their ability to deliver top-quality designs and sustainable solutions while effectively leading teams and driving business growth.

Sander den Blanken has a diverse education history. Sander obtained a Modular Executive MBA in Business Process Management from Nyenrode Business University in the year 2024. In 2016, they attended the Leading Change Programme at London Business School. In 2012, they completed the Accelerated Development Programme, also at London Business School. Sander holds a MSc. degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, which they completed from 1996 to 1999. Sander also has a BSc. degree in Civil Engineering from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, obtained between 1992 and 1996. Sander's secondary education was completed at Sint Nicolaaslyceum Amsterdam, where they pursued an Atheneum diploma with a focus on Mathematics, Physics, Biology, German, English, Netherlands, and History. In addition to their formal education, Sander has several certifications, including GPI GPI Installatie from eX:plain in 2021, Member of IABSE from IABSE in 2001, and Register Ontwerper from Constructeursregister in 2012.
