Joon Yang

Joon Yang is a seasoned quantitative researcher with extensive experience in systematic long/short equity strategies, currently employed at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since March 2021. Joon has held various roles including quantitative analyst and data analyst, with a focus on systematic equity analysis. In addition to this role, Joon serves as the President of the Board of Directors at Raise Community Group, transforming a previously failed shelter into a successful 501(c)(3) organization. Previous positions include research fellow at Harvard University, quantitative developer at AJO, and experience in machine learning engineering and computational sociology. Joon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Statistics from Harvard University.
