Jason Derrick has extensive experience in small business lending and underwriting, holding various leadership roles across multiple financial institutions. Currently serving as VP, Small Business Lending Underwriter at Banc of California since May 2022, Jason specializes in preparing credit approval packages for government-guaranteed loans. Previous positions include VP, GGL Senior Underwriter at First Bank of the Lake, where Jason focused on SBA and USDA loans, and VP, SBA Credit Portfolio Manager at TD Bank, responsible for assessing borrower risk profiles and preparing credit memorandums. Early career roles included evaluating loan profiles at Bank of North Carolina and implementing loan review processes at Business Carolina, Inc. Jason began a career in education as an 8th Grade Integrated Science Teacher and holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology from Clemson University.
