Stefano Di Stefano

Stefano Di Stefano has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena since April 2022. He is also a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee. He graduated in Economics from the Luiss University of Rome, and from 1984 to 1986, with a CNR research contract, he was a lecturer in Economic Policy at the same University.

From 1986 to 1988 he joined the Finance Department of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, where he worked on budgets and financial planning, financial risk management and management control.

From 1989 to 1992 he was a Senior Manager at SOFIPA, a merchant bank controlled by Mediocredito Centrale, where he supervised capital transactions for minority shareholdings and management control. He was also Statutory Auditor of various investee companies.

From 1992 to 1998, as a Senior Manager in the Finance Department of the Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale - IRI, he was involved in strategic and financial planning, budget analysis and management control of the Institute's banking and financial holdings.
