Sara Candeias

Sara Candeias is an experienced executive in the fields of data, analytics, and digital transformation. Most recently, Sara served as Chief Data Officer at Banco Montepio from October 2021 to September 2023, where responsibilities included leading a comprehensive transformation program in data and AI, as well as overseeing various related departments. Prior to this, Sara excelled as an Executive Director for Data & AI initiatives, and as Principal at BearingPoint, leading the development of digital solutions to improve customer engagement and organizational agility. Sara's experience at Microsoft involved managing data and AI projects and engaging with C-level executives to promote AI solutions. Earlier career roles include senior management positions in research and development focused on language technologies at INESC and Instituto de Telecomunicações. Academically, Sara holds degrees from INSEAD and Universidade Coimbra, including executive education in Digital Business Strategy and a Post-PhD in Speech Processing.
