Penicela Vasco has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Software Developer - Programmer at STAE - Secretariado Técnico de Administração Eleitoral for a few months. From 2005 to 2016, they held various roles at CEDSIF, including Senior Programmer, Software Testing Coordinator, Project Manager, Software Architect, and Software Developer - Programmer. In 2008, they also worked as a Teacher at USTM - Universidade São Tomás de Moçambique. In 2008, they joined Labsoft Lda as a Project Director. Currently, Penicela Vasco is employed at BNI - Banco Nacional de Investimento, where they have served as a Senior IT Specialist, Head of IT Department, and their current role as Director of Information Systems since 2016.
Penicela Vasco holds a Master's degree in Actuarial Sciences from the Unviersidade Eduadro Mondlane (UEM) and Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG), which was obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Licentiate degree in Information Technology from the Unviersidade Eduadro Mondlane from 2000 to 2007. In addition to their degrees, Penicela has obtained several certifications including COBIT 5® Foundation from APMG International in August 2018, Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer and Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 8 Programmer from Oracle in August 2016, and International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) - Foundation Level from the South African Software Testing Qualifications Board in July 2013.
