Carlos Almendares Sánchez

Carlos Almendares Sánchez has a diverse work experience in the fields of information security, IT compliance, and data analysis. Carlos currently holds the position of Chief Information Security Officer at Banco Sabadell en México, where they have been since May 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Responsable de Riesgo IT & Compliance at the same organization from June 2020 to May 2022.

Before joining Banco Sabadell, Carlos worked at the Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores as the Subdirector de supervisión de seguridad de la información from October 2019 to June 2020. Carlos also held the position of Director general adjunto de explotación de información from July 2018 to May 2019 and the Director de área role from July 2013 to July 2018.

Carlos began their professional career at Telefónica in 2003, where they specialized in revenue assurance. Carlos was recognized for their expertise in revenue leakage detection and prevention, as well as the implementation of revenue assurance KPIs. Prior to Telefónica, they worked at E-siglo as a project leader and at Softtek as an analyst, developer, and leader.

Carlos Almendares Sánchez obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Information Technology, as well as a Licenciatura en sistemas computarizados e informatica (degree in computerized systems and informatics). Carlos attended Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México from 1993 to 2000.
