Elena Lopez Dehesa has extensive experience in financial risk management and valuation, currently serving as Global Head of Fair and Prudent Valuation and Internal Validation Executive Manager at Banco Santander since March 2010. In this role, Elena has created a corporate unit for validation of valuation models and developed a global framework for valuation adjustments. Previous positions at Banco Santander include Model Risk Manager and Market Risk Model Owner Manager, where Elena was involved in model risk management and supervisory dialogues with regulatory bodies. Prior to Banco Santander, Elena held roles at BBVA as a Commodities Trader and at various organizations where responsibilities included financial analysis and methodological support for capital estimation. Elena holds a Master in Economics and Finance from CEMFI and is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
