Derek Phillips

Derek Phillips is an accomplished Executive Director and Head of Bancorp Corporate Finance, with over two decades of experience at Bancorp Group since February 2003. In this role, Derek has provided expert advisory services on M&A transactions, capital raisings, and business valuations for a diverse range of clients, successfully facilitating over 120 transactions valued at more than $16 billion in debt funding. Prior to Bancorp, Derek served as the Manager of Aerodynamics at Vortec Energy from 1997 to 2002, where leadership was provided in the aerodynamic research and development of the innovative Vortec Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbine. Derek holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Aerodynamics) from The University of Auckland, where education was pursued from 1993 to 2003, alongside earlier education at Massey High.
