Elisa Valente has worked as a Data Scientist at Bandora since March 2021. Their main responsibility is to study and develop an HVAC consumption optimization system that aims to provide a comfortable indoor temperature while minimizing energy usage. Their expertise includes Python, EC2, S3, MLflow, forecasting, ensemble learning algorithms, combinatorial optimization, and statistical tests.
Prior to their current role, Elisa worked as a Visiting Lecturer/Researcher at UCL from February 2020 to August 2020. Their master's thesis focused on network anomaly detection using adversarial deep learning. Elisa developed algorithms and tools for detecting network attacks using adversarial deep learning methods. Their skills include anomaly detection, generative adversarial networks, imbalanced classification, and deep learning.
Elisa Valente pursued their education from 2015 to 2020 at the Universidade do Minho, where they completed an Integrated Master's degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering. In addition to their academic achievements, they have also obtained several certifications. In September 2022, Elisa completed the Integrated course program: Machine Learning Engineering for Production (MLOps) offered by Coursera. Elisa also attained the certification of Juíza Estagiária de Atletismo from the Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo in January 2022. Prior to that, in May 2020, Elisa successfully completed the Data Science Pitch Bootcamp offered by Pitch Bootcamp. In September 2017, they participated in Pixels Camp, and in April 2014, they attended the Workshop Teatro CDV conducted by Teatro do Noroeste - Centro Dramático de Viana.
