Yorgos Karafotias

Yorgos Karafotias has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Yorgos is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Bandora since March 2023, where they also worked as the Head of AI starting from February 2020. Prior to that, Yorgos worked as a Freelancer, specializing in Data & AI Science, starting from May 2018.

Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Technical Artificial Intelligence at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), which they completed from 2008 to 2010.

Continuing their studies in Amsterdam, Yorgos obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from VU Amsterdam, specializing in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Yorgos accomplished this from 2011 to 2015.

Additionally, Yorgos expanded their knowledge and skills by attending SAE Amsterdam from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering.

In terms of certifications, Yorgos obtained three certifications from Coursera in 2018. These certifications include "Version Control with Git," "Advanced Modeling for Discrete Optimization," and "Basic Modeling for Discrete Optimization."
