Eli Remolona currently serves as the Governor and a Member of the Monetary Board at Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas since August 2022. Additionally, Eli has been an Associate Editor for Finance at the International Journal of Central Banking since 2005. Prior roles include Professor of Finance and Director of Central Banking at the Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan, Advisor at the Hong Kong Academy of Finance, and Visiting Professor of Economics at Williams College. Eli also held various positions at the Bank for International Settlements from 1999 to 2018, including Chief Representative for Asia and the Pacific. Eli began a career in research at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and served as Director of Research and Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines School of Economics. Eli holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Ateneo de Manila University.
