Shamsul Alam worked as Manager of Financial Accounting at BEOL, focusing on statutory accounts and compliance. Additional experience includes a managerial position at Abul Khair Group and as an Articled Student at ACNABIN, where Md. Shamsul Alam gained significant audit and assurance experience with various national organizations and banks. Educational qualifications include a BBA, MBA, and FCA in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Dhaka and ACNABIN.

Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited (BEOL), established in 1993, is mostly known as the most trusted edible oil company of Bangladesh, with its well-known household brands like Rupchanda, Meizan, King’s, Fortune & Veola. BEOL is a 100% foreign-owned joint venture between Wilmar International Limited of Singapore and Adani Group of India. From established till now, BEOL has continuously improved quality and introduced new products and packaging to bring in value-added elements to the consumers of Bangladesh to consolidate our leading position in the market. BEOL is the first company to introduce packing of edible oil in PET bottles, pouch and bag in box in Bangladesh. BEOL’s flagship brand Rupchanda was the first Vitamin-A fortified refined soybean oil that was certified and approved by the Government and has won the best edible oil brand award for the last 10 years (as per Brand Equity Study conducted by Bangladesh Brand Forum). In 2013, it entered into aromatic rice business offering the best quality branded Chinigura rice for the first time. Currently, BEOL is offering Chinigura, Mincate & Nazirshail Rice under Rupchanda, and imported Basmati Rice under Fortune. In 2014, BEOL launched Fortune Rice Bran Oil in the country – the first oil to provide 10,000 ppm oryzanol under India’s No.1 brand Fortune. In 2016, it acquired Shun Shing Edible Oil Ltd. (SSEOL) and its brands – Veola and Olein – for refined soya and super-refined olein. Today BEOL engages 400 employees directly and a thousand indirectly for its operations in Dhaka and Mongla with an aim to improve the quality of people’s lives by providing constantly improved quality products with full customer satisfaction.
