Daniel Cherry

Daniel Cherry has a diverse work experience in the banking industry, specializing in compliance. Currently, they serve as the SVP Chief Compliance Officer at Bank of Ann Arbor since May 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of VP Senior Compliance Governance Manager at TCF Bank from August 2019 to April 2021. Before joining TCF Bank, they worked at Chemical Bank as a VP Compliance Manager from July 2018 to August 2019. Daniel also gained valuable experience at MB Financial Bank, where they held the positions of VP Mortgage Originations Counsel from August 2016 to July 2018 and VP Compliance Program Manager from June 2015 to August 2016. Daniel began their career at United Shore Financial Services, serving as a Compliance Specialist from January 2012 to June 2015 and as a Licensing Coordinator from December 2008 to January 2012.

Daniel Cherry has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law from Cooley Law School, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the same institution, attending from 2010 to 2013. Their undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Music Performance - Double Bass from Central Michigan University, earned from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, they are certified as a Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) by the American Bankers Association, obtained in 2019. Daniel is also an Attorney, having received their certification from the State Bar of Michigan in 2013.
