Wee Li Cheong

Wee Li Cheong has a diverse work experience in the banking and investment industry. Wee Li currently holds the role of Deputy General Manager of the Transaction Banking Department at Bank of China (New Zealand) Limited, which they started in February 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Financial Institutions and Asset Management at Bank of China, where they successfully established the bank's regional office in Papua New Guinea and obtained a banking license. Before joining Bank of China, Wee Li Cheong worked at ANZ as a Corporate Banker from 2011 to 2015. Wee Li also has extensive experience in debt capital markets and investment banking, having worked at MIDF Investment Bank, Public Investment Bank, MIMB Investment Bank, and Amanah Short Deposit. Overall, Wee Li Cheong has a strong background in financial institutions, asset management, corporate banking, and debt capital markets.

Wee Li Cheong completed a BA (Hons) in Business Administration with a focus on Business Admin and Finance from Northumbria University in 2002. In 2020, Wee Li Cheong attended Harvard Business School for a short course in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies.
