Aarti Sharma

Aarti Sharma is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in financial control, accounting policy, and corporate structuring. Since April 2021, Aarti has served as the Head of Financial Control & Accounting Policy at the Bank of England. Previously, Aarti held significant roles at HSBC from August 2010 to April 2020, where responsibilities included leading key Finance workstreams for the Banking Reform Act and developing compliant accounting policies as the Accounting Policy Manager. Aarti’s career began at PwC, where a progression from intern to senior associate included leading audit teams for major financial services clients and advising on the IFRS9 accounting standard. Aarti holds a Masters in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from the University of Washington's Michael G. Foster School of Business.
