Alistair Strathern

Alistair Strathern is a skilled professional with extensive experience in finance, risk management, and public service. Currently serving as Climate Lead for Insurance at the Bank of England since September 2022, Alistair also holds a position as Councillor for the London Borough of Waltham Forest, with responsibilities in Asset Strategy and Transformation. Previously, Alistair worked at OakNorth Bank in various roles, including Director of Prudential Risk and Capital Manager, overseeing critical aspects of capital and liquidity management. Alistair's career includes significant contributions at the Bank of England in supervisory and analytical capacities, as well as leadership roles at TUC and as a Non-Executive Director at Ascham Homes. Alistair's educational background includes a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford and a PGCE in Secondary Education from IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society.
