James Hotson is an experienced communications professional with a proven track record in strategic communications and public relations across various sectors, including government and regulatory bodies. Currently serving as the Head of Strategic Communications at the Bank of England since December 2023, James previously held the position of Head of Strategic Communications and Planning at Ofgem, managing a media and public affairs team during a significant transformation period in the energy sector. Other notable roles include leadership positions at the Department for Transport, The Law Society, and the Department of Health and Social Care, alongside a foundation in media relations from earlier experiences at the Civil Aviation Authority and KPMG Advisory.
