John Taylor

John Taylor is an experienced professional currently serving as a Board Member at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) and an Independent Non-Executive Director (NED) and Chair of the Investment Committee at MDDUS. As an External Member of the Prudential Regulation Committee at the Bank of England, Taylor contributes to regulatory oversight, while also being a Governor at the Royal Conservatoire and Chairperson of the Scottish Financial Risk Academy, focusing on risk management in financial services. Taylor's prior leadership roles include Immediate Past President at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and Partner at Hymans Robertson. With extensive experience in marketing and management in the financial sector, Taylor has held key positions at NEST, Scottish Widows, and Standard Life, where significant achievements included launching the UK’s first workplace savings platform, "mymoneyworks." Taylor holds a Ph.D. in Pure Mathematics and an M.Sc. in Actuarial Maths from the University of Glasgow and Heriot-Watt University, respectively.
