Marianne Schneider-Petsinger

Marianne Schneider-Petsinger currently serves as a Senior Specialist for Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) at the Bank of England, a position held since August 2023. Prior to this role, Marianne was a Senior Research Fellow at Chatham House from June 2016 to August 2023, where responsibilities included directing the Global Trade Forum and contributing to the Global Economy and Finance Programme as well as the US and the Americas Programme. Additional experience includes project management at Consumers International and serving as a Desk Officer for Economic Affairs at the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Technology. An early career included roles as an Economist/Trade Policy Analyst Trainee at the OECD and as Public Affairs Program Coordinator at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies. Educational qualifications encompass a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, a Certificate in International Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Economics from the University of Maine.
