Carla Nelson has a strong and diverse work experience spanning several industries. Carla began their career as an Associate Attorney at Gardner, Carton & Douglas before joining the U.S. Department of Justice as a Trial Attorney. Following their time at the Department of Justice, Carla worked as an Attorney/Consultant in private practice, representing clients in various civil cases. In 2008, they transitioned to the role of Senior Manager/Senior Environmental Risk Analyst at Capital One Healthcare/GE Capital Corporation, where they reviewed real estate loan applications and managed potential environmental issues. Carla then joined First Citizens Bank & Trust as the Senior Vice President, Manager of the Environmental Risk Department, where they helped establish their centralized environmental risk management program. Currently, they are the Senior Vice President/Environmental Risk Manager at Bank of Hope, overseeing the implementation of the bank's Environmental Risk Management Program.
Carla Nelson holds a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from The University of Texas School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General from Rice University. Carla is also a Registered Patent Attorney certified by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and a member of the State Bar of Texas.
