Aongus O'Grady

Aongus O'Grady is an experienced professional in governance, credit management, and financial education. Currently serving as the Head of Governance Services at Bank of Ireland since July 2014, Aongus oversees a team responsible for providing Secretariat services to key Risk Committees addressing Non-Financial Risks. Previous roles include Senior Manager of SME Recoveries, where Aongus maximized recoveries on non-performing exposures and managed the Covid-19 payment breaks project, and Head of Credit Capability, focusing on group-wide credit strategies. Aongus also lectures on advanced financial management and corporate finance at Griffith College Dublin. Prior to current positions, Aongus held various leadership roles at Commonwealth Bank, AMP Capital, ING Australia, JPMorgan Chase, and ACC Bank, acquiring significant expertise in equity derivatives, risk management, and lending operations. Aongus holds education credentials from ACCA and Dublin City University.
