Sarah McLaughlin is the current Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance at Bank of Ireland. Sarah has also been the ICSA Company Secretary of the year. Prior to their current position, Sarah was the Corporate Operations Manager and Company Secretary at SELC Ireland Limited and AIB. At AIB, they were also the Head of Corporate Governance & Group Company Secretary. Some of their responsibilities included corporate governance, legals, compliance, operations and company secretarial matters.

Sarah McLaughlin holds a BA in Economics & Geography from University College Dublin. Sarah is also a Qualified Financial Advisor from the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and holds a Professional Diploma in Compliance from the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland. Sarah also has various certificates in the financial services sector including a Certificate in Financial Services Environment from the Institute of Bankers, a Certificate in Front Line Management from the Institute of Bankers and a Certificate in Banking Operations from the Institute of Bankers.

They are on a team with Stephen Roughton-Smith - Group Chief Risk Officer, Group Risk, Ian McLaughlin - CEO, Bank of Ireland (UK) plc, and Enda Johnson - Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer. Sarah McLaughlin reports to Gavin Kelly, Interim Group Chief Executive.
