Edward Mugerwa

Edward Mugerwa is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications and banking sectors. Currently serving as Director of IT at the Bank of Uganda since February 2018, Edward leads digital transformation initiatives amid the convergence of banking and telecommunications. Previous roles include Co-CEO and Director of Operations & Solutions at ViSAT (EA) Ltd, and Country Manager at SawaSat, where Edward drove business growth and innovation. Edward's career also includes significant positions at Uganda Telecom Ltd, International Turnkey Systems, and M&R Computer Support, encompassing management of IT systems, customer support, and teaching roles in information technology. Edward holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of Salford and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University.
