Russell Granet is the President & CEO of New 42. He has worked in this position since June 2019. Prior to his current role, he was the Executive Vice President and Acting President of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Education from 2012-2019.

Russell Granet is the founder and former director of Arts Education Resource (AER). He has 17 years of experience in non-profit arts education organizations. His focus is on developing sustainable partnerships, providing assessment support through action research, and ensuring the arts curriculum and those teaching the arts are prepared for all types of learners.

Russell Granet worked as the Director of Education at The American Place Theatre from 1995 to 1998. In this role, he oversaw all aspects of the theatre's Literature to Life program. This included supervising and administering an interdisciplinary theatre/literature course co-taught by APT teaching artists and high school English teachers. He also established, created, and staffed Literature to Life/Los Angeles.
