Eddie King

Eddie King is the Executive Officer of Credit at Bank Windhoek Ltd. Eddie has over 10 years of experience in financial risk management. Prior to their current position, they were the Head of Financial Risk at Bank Windhoek for six years. In this role, they were responsible for the full operational management function of the Treasury Middle Office, Credit Risk, ALCO division and Financial Risk Modelling departments. Eddie also led the formulation and implementation of governance structures, policies and frameworks.

King has a proven track record in effectively managing significant risks and related opportunities. Eddie has supported and assessed risk profiles, performed stress testing and scenario analysis to augment profile quantification, developed and monitored dashboards, established the risk appetite, verified policies through the development of methodologies for valuation, risk assessment, sensitivity analyses, scenario analyses and stress testing, developed and improved on management reporting, and led negotiations on legal documentation. Eddie has also facilitated intra-group companies with financial risk management and ensured the adherence of Terms of Reference, credit risk profile quantification and monthly Credit Risk Forum (CRF) reporting. Eddie is a member of the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and Risk Committees.

King holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Namibia.

Eddie King has an Executive MBA from the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business, a CFA Charter from the CFA Institute, and a Senior Management Development Programme certification from Stellenbosch Business School. Eddie also has a Master of Science in Business Mathematics and Informatics from the North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Mathematics and Informatics from the same school. Eddie King also has a Matriculated National Senior Certificate from Wesvalia High School in Klerksdorp, South Africa, as well as certifications from the CFA Institute in Chartered Financial Analyst and ACI Financial Markets South Africa in ACI Dealing Certificate.

They are on a team with Chris Matthee - Executive Officer, Capricorn Private Wealth, Kobus Hough - Head, IT Architecture, and Claire Hobbs - Chief Treasurer. Eddie King reports to Baronice Hans, Managing Director.
