Meta Ahtik

Meta Ahtik currently serves as the Director of the Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy Department at Banka Slovenije since January 2021. In addition, Ahtik is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business Studies at the Catholic Institute and a Researcher at the Institute for Comparative Law at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, both roles held since February 2018 and December 2014, respectively. Previous experience includes several positions at Bank of Slovenia, including Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy Department, as well as roles at the European Central Bank, where Ahtik contributed to financial stability monitoring and economic research. Academic positions have included Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, focusing on Economics and Law & Economics. Ahtik holds a PhD in Economics and an LL.B. degree in Law from the University of Ljubljana.
