Christian Giacomi ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ has over 20 years of experience in software development and technical architecture.

Christian is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Pleo since May 2023.

Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at the LEGO Group from November 2021 to December 2022, where they were the technical lead on the Inventory Orchestrator for Omnichannel Backend Spine in Supply & Demand. Christian developed async reactive microservices in Go and NodeJS/Typescript and utilized AWS Lambda, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL in the infrastructure.

Before that, they were a Senior Backend Developer at Nuuday from December 2019 to November 2021, where they were the technical lead in the Subscription squad and focused on redesigning the new MixTV platform. Christian designed and wrote backend REST microservices using Go and MongoDB on K8s and AWS Lambda. Christian also experimented with GraphQL in Go to enhance customer experience.

In addition, they were the Founder of Hotboard from March 2019 to October 2021, where they designed and coded native iOS and macOS applications using Swift with UIKit and AppKit. Christian also developed backend REST APIs using Go and MongoDB and managed devops using Docker and Terraform on AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

Before that, they worked as a Senior Backend Developer and Full Stack Developer at DR - Danmarks Radio from 2012 to 2019. In the role of a Senior Backend Developer, they developed REST microservices using PHP and Symfony and wrote support scripts in Python. As a Full Stack Developer, they designed and wrote frontends using Angular, SASS, and Bootstrap, as well as architected and wrote REST APIs using C# and MVC 4 with MongoDB and integration to the legacy Oracle.

Prior to that, they worked as an Application Developer at Uniblue Systems Ltd in 2012, developing next-generation desktop utility applications using Python and open-source frameworks.

From 2008 to 2012, they worked at DR - Danmarks Radio as an Integration Developer and Technical Architect. Christian was involved in architecting and expanding the API footprint, as well as developing backend APIs using SOAP and Windows Services in C#.

Christian started their career in 2006 as a Software Developer at Maersk Data Defence / SAAB Technologies Danmark, where they developed C2 modules for Air and Land forces using C#.

From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Software Developer and Technical Architect at Epista Software A/S, where they co-designed and co-developed a groundbreaking visual function builder and designed web-enabled reports using AJAX and HTML.

Lastly, from 1997 to 2003, they were a Co-founder of DGlight, a web studio, where they developed static and dynamic websites using classic ASP and PHP and wrote desktop applications to assist customers with content and image loading.

Christian Giacomi ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ has a diverse education history. From 2001 to 2003, they attended Erhvervsakadamiet Roskilde in Denmark and obtained a degree in Computer Science as a Datamatiker. In 2010, they enrolled in Danmarks Tekniske Universitet and completed a 5 ETCS course in programming in C++. In 2011, they earned the Certified Scrum Master certification from Trifork.

In addition to their formal education, Christian has also pursued various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In June 2011, they obtained the Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance. More recently, in October 2022, they acquired the Tech Career Skills: Interviewing Developers certification from LinkedIn.
