Walt Sykes Cic

Walt Sykes has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Walt began their career at RSA as a Senior Underwriter in 1992 before moving on to Chubb in 1997, where they worked as a Practice Leader until 2008. From 2009 to 2016, they served as an Assistant Vice President at Chubb, managing the largest Technology and Life Science team in North America and launching the US P&C new business underwriting units. Following that, they held the position of Vice President at Chubb from 2016 to 2020, where they were responsible for the development of the alternative placement business and the expansion of Commercial Insurance into the Mid-Market digital production and underwriting. Since 2020, Walt Sykes has been working at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions as the Head Middle Corporate Business NA and Senior Vice President, overseeing the North American underwriting practice for P&C Middle Market. Walt joined Bankers Insurance Group in 2023 as its President.

Walt Sykes, CIC has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Banking and Finance from Morehouse College. Walt also holds a Certificate in Business Leadership from The University of Georgia's Terry College of Business - Office of Executive Programs. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as the Black Executive Leadership Program from McKinsey & Company in January 2023 and the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research in 2005.
