Dan Smith

Dan Smith is currently the Head of International Compliance at First Abu Dhabi Bank since January 2020, overseeing regulatory and financial crime leadership across a diverse international network. Prior to this role, Dan accumulated over a decade of experience at Citi, where responsibilities included EMEA Head of Core Compliance, leading regional teams in compliance program development and execution, compliance advisory, and risk management. Additional roles at Citi encompassed Compliance Director, Control and Emerging Risk Chief of Staff, and Control Operations Officer, all focusing on enhancing compliance frameworks and operational effectiveness within a vast organizational structure. Dan holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, earned between 1997 and 2000.
