Shiraz Afzal

Shiraz Afzal is a seasoned compliance executive with extensive experience in investment banking and control room operations. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Group Head of Control Room at First Abu Dhabi Bank since August 2022, Shiraz is a key member of the Group Compliance Executive Committee, responsible for leading the Global Control Room and Private Side Advisory function. Prior roles include Head of APAC Control Room at MUFG, where Shiraz managed compliance across 16 countries, and Senior Manager at Westpac Institutional Bank, overseeing the APAC Control Room function. Additional experience includes positions at RBS and Deloitte & Touche LLP. Shiraz holds a BA (Hons) in Economic and Social History from the University of Bristol and a Certificate in Securities and Investment from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
